OUR IMPACT

My company, VoiceBox 3-D , was founded in 2022 at the launch of My Breathing Buddy and the curriculum at my Anatomy of Sound's™ new site. I wanted to add to the experience of teaching the breath, and moreover, to create unique learning tools for all types of performers  - from the classroom to the stage to the athletic field. I created a company to do just that with VoiceBox 3-D. These 3-D simulators have moveable polymer that are currently inflated by a small bulb but connectivity possibilities are endless. We have the diaphragm, now we're working on a tongue inside a jaw, and a Voice Box - with waving vocal folds. 

 The goal of our toolbox of simulators is to help unleash the fullest potential of every breath, every word, and every movement in a peak performance. The team of myself, Dr. David Brown along with flutist and movement coach Laura Dwyer can offer help in bringing the best breath to life. Our 22-year curriculum at Anatomy of Sound applies these simulators to what we're  teaching. We offer custom one-on-one movement therapy with Laura for artists, teachers and businesses. The doctors own simulators in their curriculum, so as a musician, I'm so thankful to have access to simple anatomy! in arts education We offer anatomically correct designs, designed by professional doctors for VoiceBox 3-D. Every piece is made at a medical simulator facility. Now we can learn from watching the diaphragm drop. Take the visual into teaching without having to touch the student. Pass the simulator around. Teaching breathing, articulation and vibrato to many students from a podium has never been easier. One-on-one conversations, less stressful with the body as the subject.

I want to provide moving anatomically correct simulators  - from seeing your tongue moving and your vocal folds waving in 3-D. This is a great need in the arts education world for teaching. the breath, articulation, vibrato and posture. Our extensive library of exercises and sample videos are available for free or for a membership fee. Band directors, theatre coaches, acting direcotrs, instrumental music teachers, all have a mentoring role and are in a one-on-one relationships with another person. I hope to bring the option of touch-less teaching to the podium, the set and the masterclass by using anatomical simulators specifically designed to showcase correct process and descriptors for easy memory. Just holding the simulator can serve as a talisman for when we're in need of a reminder of the breath.

I take anatomy in my teaching much more seriously than ever since my student, Dr. David Brown, drew the tongue out for me on paper. It's fascinating for a musician to learn anatomy in a music lesson ! In addition, I take  efforts to treat everyone fairly and with equity in the classroom. That is why the size and scope of our teaching tools will be convenient for everyone. They can fit in the palm of your hand, or in a desk drawer. No connectivity required. No human touch required. They're convenient to teach young K-12th graders' impressionable minds and could be helpful to inform patients in therapy beyond stick figures and words on paper.
